OUR BELIEFS
At The KNOWING, we believe Christianity is more than knowing about God—it is about KNOWING GOD and being brought into relationship with Him through Jesus Christ and learning to live from everything Christ has accomplished for us.
“And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.” — John 17:3
The Nature and Sovereignty of God
We believe God is sovereign, all-powerful, all-knowing, and completely good. His sovereignty does not mean that everything that happens in this world is His will or that He causes every event that occurs.
We believe God is a loving Father and that His nature and character are perfectly revealed in Jesus Christ. Jesus said, “He who has seen Me has seen the Father.” Therefore, when we want to understand what God is like, we look to Jesus.
We do not believe God causes sickness, tragedy, destruction, or evil in order to teach His children a lesson. Scripture tells us that every good and perfect gift comes from God, while Jesus identified the thief as the one who comes to steal, kill, and destroy. Jesus came that we might have life and have it more abundantly.
We believe we live in a fallen world affected by sin, human choices, and the work of the enemy. God has given humanity genuine authority and the ability to choose, and He does not control people as though they have no will of their own.
Yet none of this diminishes God's sovereignty or power. God is greater than every circumstance and able to work in and through situations He did not cause. He redeems, restores, heals, delivers, comforts, and brings good out of what the enemy intended for evil.
When tragedy comes, we do not attribute evil to our Father. We run to Him. We believe He is our help, our healer, our comforter, our protector, and the One who works on our behalf.

The Bible
We believe the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, is the inspired Word of God and our final authority for truth, doctrine, faith, and life. We believe God's Word is alive and powerful and, through the Holy Spirit, reveals who God is, who we are in Christ, and how we are called to live.

God
We believe there is one true and eternal God who exists in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is Creator, holy, righteous, good, loving, faithful, and unchanging.

Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God and God manifested in the flesh. We believe in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. He was born of a virgin, lived without sin, demonstrated the power and character of God, and willingly gave His life on the cross for our sins.
Jesus is not simply a way to God—He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
Through His finished work, Jesus accomplished everything necessary for our salvation and reconciliation to God.

Salvation by Grace Through Faith
We believe salvation is the gift of God, made available through the finished work of Jesus Christ. It cannot be earned through religious performance or good works.
We receive salvation by grace through faith—believing in Jesus Christ, confessing Him as Lord, and receiving what He accomplished through His death and resurrection.
Through Christ, we are forgiven, made righteous before God, born again, and made new.

Water Baptism and Communion
We believe water baptism by immersion is an outward expression of faith in Jesus Christ and identification with His death, burial, and resurrection.
We also believe in regularly receiving Communion in remembrance of Jesus and His finished work.

Our New Identity in Christ
We believe salvation is more than having our sins forgiven. Through the new birth, our old life has passed away and we have been made alive in Christ.
Sin is no longer our master. We are called to renew our minds according to God's Word and learn to live from the new identity we have already received in Christ.
We believe holiness is not an attempt to earn God's acceptance; it is the fruit of Christ's life being expressed through us as we grow in Him.

The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is God and is fully active in the lives of believers today.
He reveals truth, glorifies Jesus, leads and guides us, empowers us to live godly lives, and equips believers to continue the works of Jesus in the earth.
We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, distinct from the new birth and available to believers by faith.

The Gifts and Power of the Holy Spirit
We believe the gifts of the Holy Spirit have not ceased and are available to believers today.
We believe God still speaks, heals, gives words of wisdom and knowledge, works miracles, and distributes spiritual gifts through His people for the strengthening of the Church and the advancement of His Kingdom.
Everything done through spiritual gifts should glorify Jesus, agree with Scripture, and operate in love.

Divine Healing
We believe healing is provided through the redemptive work of Jesus Christ and that God desires His people to receive and minister healing by faith.
We believe Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and that the healing ministry demonstrated by Jesus and the early Church remains relevant for believers today.

The Authority of the Believer
We believe Jesus has given His Church authority to represent Him in the earth.
Our authority does not come from ourselves; it comes from Jesus Christ and our union with Him. Believers are called to resist the devil, stand upon God's Word, pray in faith, proclaim the Gospel, minister to others, and live as ambassadors of Christ.

The Church
We believe the Church is not a place, it’s a people. The Church is made up of all those who have been born again through faith in Jesus Christ.
Every believer has a place and purpose within the Body of Christ. We believe Christians are called to gather together, worship, grow in God's Word, encourage one another, use their gifts, serve others, and make disciples.
The Church does not exist merely to hold services. We are called to represent Jesus to the world.

The Great Commission
We believe every believer is called to participate in the mission Jesus gave His Church: make disciples of all nations.
We are called to proclaim the Gospel, demonstrate the love and power of God, teach people the Word, and help believers grow into maturity in Christ.

The Return of Jesus and Eternity
We believe Jesus Christ will physically return, the dead will be raised, and every person will ultimately stand before God.
Those who receive salvation through Jesus Christ have eternal life with God. Those who reject Christ remain separated from Him.
Because eternity is real, proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ is both urgent and essential.

Marriage, Sexuality & God’s Design
We believe God created humanity in His image, male and female, and that His design for marriage is the covenant union of one man and one woman.
We believe sexual intimacy was created by God as a good gift to be expressed within the covenant of marriage. We believe God's design for our bodies, sexuality, and relationships is good and is revealed through His Word.
At the same time, we believe every person is created in the image of God and should be treated with love, dignity, compassion, and respect. We believe Jesus calls all people to Himself, and that His grace has the power to forgive, restore, transform, and lead us into His truth.

The Sanctity of Human Life
We believe all human life is sacred and created in the image of God. Human life has value and dignity because God is its Creator, and that value is not determined by age, ability, circumstance, achievement, or usefulness.
We believe God's care for human life extends from conception throughout every stage of life, and we are called to protect life, care for the vulnerable, show compassion to those in need, and demonstrate the love of Christ.
We also believe the Gospel speaks grace and restoration to those who carry regret, grief, or pain from past decisions. In Jesus Christ there is forgiveness, healing, and freedom from condemnation.
